Compensation: Legal services in Slovenia

We, as attorneys in Slovenia, provide legal services in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Advocacy. We offer legal advice and representation to our clients in the field of tort law and the enforcement of compensation claims, as well as in general tort-related matters.

Although legal representation by a lawyer is not mandatory in the court proceedings for the enforcement of a compensation claim in Slovenia, it is advisable due to the complexity of legal relationships in many tort cases. This is particularly true when the basis and amount of the compensation claim are disputed, and when it is necessary to obtain expert opinions from traffic experts or typically from medical professionals in cases involving non-material damages, etc.

Compensation claims are subject to deadlines and must be submitted in the correct form and with sufficient content. Failure to meet the deadlines usually results in the loss of the right to claim compensation or, at least, the inability to seek judicial enforcement (preclusion and/or statute of limitations).

• Extrajudicial representation in proceedings against responsible parties (natural and legal persons, insurance companies, municipalities, state, workplace accidents, traffic accidents, injuries in public places, payment of undisputed portion of compensation)
• Representation in civil proceedings (lawsuit for the payment of compensation for material and non-material damages, representation at hearings, other procedural acts, settlement, workplace accidents, traffic accidents, injuries in public places, payment of undisputed portion of compensation)

 

Others:

• Legal opinions, representation in other lawyer-related matters in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Advocacy.
